What is all this about?
About the Artist:
Here's where I'd put up a long, boring biography, listing off my favorite music, movies, etc., that nobody is really interested in knowing anyway. So instead, I'll ramble on a bit about what makes me tick, I guess.
I'm a fairly friendly, if not somewhat quiet person. I care deeply for my art, it's more than just a hobby. It's the voice of my muse, as tonedeaf as she may be. To be honest, it took a lot of time and thought for me to even consider selling my artwork, for a few reasons. The two main ones being my passion for it makes me loathe to part with it, and at the same time the critic in me constantly reassures me that nobody in their right mind would buy it :P
I do have a specialty with my art, and that is dragons. Specialty meaning that these sorts of creatures are the ones that I feel are my best works. That's not to say that other creatures won't turn out well, but they might be more prone to errors. (though I do my best to avoid this, and am always up for a constructive critique or tips!) I highly reccomend that you browse through my galleries to see examples of how other sorts of subject matter looks in my particular style before you commit yourself to a commission.
I do have a family, so I might not always work as fast as some other artists out there. To see where you are in queue, and get a brief notice of progress, look at "Progress" under the Visuals tab. If you feel that it's taking too long, (read: no progress in a few weeks) feel free to drop me an email at Artist(at)Serpentsortia(dot)org, and I'll be more than happy to let you know where your artwork stands.
About the Art:
I've been drawing on and off (mostly off) for about 20 years (since I was a little kid), though I didn't really get into it until 2004. Since then, my style has changed dramatically, and I still continue to learn and grow as an artist. That said, constructive critique is always welcome ;)
My main gear is a battery of different kinds of pencils, 9x12 bristol vellum, photoshop, a very nice Canon printer, and my trusty wacom tablet. I'm starting to dabble in acrylic paints and other 'real' mediums, so keep an eye out!
I got my first online gallery in January of 2004, and since have expanded to include Deviant Art , and now here.
My main subject matter is what can be considered "Fantasy" art. Dragons, gryphons, elves, fae, anthropomorphic animals, things found in fantasy stories. Sci-fi (read: mecha, space, tech, etc.) has never caught my attention, and so you won't find much of that here. Even if I were more interested, you still wouldn't find much here, since I can't draw it well enough yet to do the genre justice.
If you have any questions or comments, feel free to email at Artist(at)Serpentsortia(dot)org. If you would like to exchange links with serpentsortia, feel free to email me. If you just want to link to this site, you can find my banner on my contact page.
Cheers!
